For over 45 years the LOA has provided services to seniors in the Roanoke Valley and Alleghany Highlands to help them remain independent for as long as possible in their own homes.
The Rescue Mission is a Christian crisis intervention center for men, women, and children. Comprehensive services include emergency shelters, hot meals, free medical care, addiction recovery, job skills training, case management, and more.
Restoration Housing is a non-profit affordable housing developer with a focus on historic preservation of architectural resources for the social benefit of low-income communities.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia (RMHC SWVA) provides a home away from home for the families of sick or injured children who must travel to Roanoke for their child to receive medical care. The Ronald McDonald Family Room, located on the 14th floor of Carilion Children’s, is a respite area for parents and adult caregivers, giving them a place to refuel and rest without leaving the hospital.
Roanoke Valley Gives is an initiative of Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia (formerly Foundation for Roanoke Valley). The goal is to raise funding for participating Roanoke Valley nonprofits in a 24 hour period while bringing attention to the work and worth of each participating organization. All donations to the participating organizations on this website are tax-deductible.
