Our Mission: We provide safe, supportive recovery and opportunities for self-sufficiency after crisis to the most vulnerable citizens in the Roanoke Valley.

Our Vision: We envision ARCH as the leading agency in second chances and new beginnings after homelessness, addiction, and crisis. Through the use of evidence-based practices, our professionally trained staff provides support to our clients withthe goal of living indepedent, productive, and healthy lives in our community.

Homeless Shelter and Housing Programs:

ARCH provides the initial stabilization needed for clients to exit the cycle of homelessness. We utilize a low-barrier, housing first model of shelter to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief, and non-reccuring. Clients are provided therapeutic case management and referrals to additional appropriate resources.
Heroes Refuge: This 15-bed shelter dedicated to homeless veterans is located in the Trust House facility. ARCH contracts with the Salem VA Medical Center for these beds, which serves veterans in 26 counties in southwestern Virginia.

Safe Refuge: This 12-bed shelter dedicated to individuals, women, and families is located in the Trust House facility. ARCH recieves referrals from City of Roanoke's Homeless Assistance Team and Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare for these beds.

New Beginnings: This housing stability program provides the supportive services that are set in place for clients once they enter into housing to ensure that they remain housed. This includes therapeutic case management provided in clients' homes and addictional supportive services.

Heroes Haven: This peremanent supportive housing program is designated to chronically homeless veterans and is located in scattered sites througout the community. This program provides housing subsidies while surrounding clients with the supportive services of New Beginnings.

Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Bethany Hall: This residential substance abuse treament program provides a second chance for women pregnant/postpartum women, and child welfare invovled women in recovery from drugs and alcohol. We offer a holistic approach to recovery while providing a supporitve and healing treatment environment. In operation for the last 45 years, this program is pivotal in the success of women's recovery as wells as the health of their unborn babies.
Peer Support Recovery Programs
Choices Recovery Center: This peer support recovery program is a holistic program addressing mind, body, and spirit. Based on accountability, responsibility, gratitude, and service, it provides people seeking recovery the dignity of choice, to provide a safe and sober place where people can come and receive the respect  and support they need to develop, maintain, ans sustain a sober life.
Stepping Stones: This peer suport recovery housing program is located in scattered sites in the community. This housing is sub-leased for clients in recovery to lives a roommates after transitioning to promote the support and accountability needed to live successfully in the community. Stepping Stones is a step-down treatment program that surrounds clients with the supportive services of New Beginnings.
