In addition to my work teaching children, I teach a class for adults called Stewards of Children, which helps adults recognize, prevent, and interrupt child sexual abuse. One in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. Help stop this!
Some of my 12 co-workers at Children's Trust are:
>Forensic Interviewers for children who may have been abused. The interviews are recorded so that Law Enforcement, the Department of Social Services, and attorneys need not interview a child more than once.
>Family Advocates for the families of these children, providing support and direction through the painful process.
>Leaders and trainers for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), who support and advocate for children as their cases work their way through the court system.
>Conflict Resolution specialists who provide mediation and guidance, especially in family custody challenges.
>AND Elvis, our Facility Dog, a beautiful black Labrador Retriever, who provides comfort for children during their forensic interviews, and provides the staff with encouragement and smiles.
Your financial support will do so much! Thank you for your positive thoughts, encouragement, and donations!
