The Clean Valley Council provides educational programming and citizen outreach activities advocating litter prevention, recycling, waste stream reduction, stormwater pollution prevention and sustainable use and protection of our natural resources.
We offer FREE environmental education programs to all schools in the Roanoke Valley and Botetourt County, grades Pre-K through 12. Last year we provided over 800 programs to nearly 19,000 students! Our two annual citizen litter cleanups bring out thousands of volunteers, who collect nearly 40 tons of trash and hundreds of tires annually, creating a healthier, more beautiful environment for all.
Enviromental Education: Free classroom programs, new summer camp, Earth Summit, scholarships
Citizen Outreach – Adult education, Litter Cleanups, Stormdrain Stenciling, Stream health monitoring, stormwater education, Electronic waste collection days
Events: Clean Valley Day, Fall Water Ways Cleanup, Recycled Regatta and River Fest
CVC provides leadership, education and programming for the Roanoke Valley including the Cities of Roanoke and Salem, the Counties of Botetourt and Roanoke and the Town of Vinton.
