Since 1960, we have worked with community partners to identify community problems, to link the community to solutions, and to develop programs that will provide the solution. Today, we continue to provide leadership and expertise through multiple community programs focusing in the following issue areas: Community Engagement, HIV Prevention & Care, Homelessness, and Information & Referral.

We invite you to browse our 2017-18 Annual Report to get a glimpse of the important work we do and in case you haven't noticed yet, we're no longer "a behind the scenes planning agency". We're a collaborative organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community by addressing important social issues like: homelessness, the opioid epidemic, infectious diseases, hunger, poverty, and violence to name a few.

Community Engagement

We help create strong, efficient services to better improve our communities. We do this by providing capacity building, program monitoring, volunteer engagement, and planning and consultation to our community.

Nonprofit Roanoke | Volunteer Services
Child an
d Adult Care Food Program | Roanoke Valley Violence Prevention Council

HIV/HCV Care & Prevention

We provide access to information and education in the prevention of HIV/STDs. We offer compassionate support services for persons affected. All services are free and confidential.

Drop-In Center | Ryan White Services

Homelessness Solutions

We provide assistance to those experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness and work collaboratively with other service providers to coordinate services. Homelessness should be rare, brief, and non-reoccurring and we’re here to make sure of it.

Blue Ridge Community Assistance Network | Community Housing Resource Center

Information & Referral

As the number of organizations providing services continues to grow, people may find it frustrating and confusing to access services. 2-1-1 VIRGINIA is a free service that can help you find the local resources you need. We’re here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
