Since 1960, the Council of Community Services has worked with community partners to identify community problems, to link the community to solutions, and to develop programs that will provide the solution. Today, the Council of Community Services continues to provide lead
ership and expertise through multiple community programs focusing in the following issue areas: Community Engagement, HIV Prevention & Care, Homelessness, and Information & Referral.

2-1-1 VIRGINIA - Provides information & referral for critical health & human services throughout VIRGINIA
Blue Ridge Community Assistance Network - Tracks and collects data on homelessness to improve coordination of services and to document services gaps
Child and Adult Care Food Program - Improving the nutritional quality of meals served to children by regulating family child care providers reimbursing them food costs.
Community Housing Resource Center - Provides coordinated and targeted rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention services
Drop-In Center -Provides a safe and confidential environment to obtain information and resource about HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, STD’s, and other health and social issues
HandsOn Blue Ridge - Builds capacity of local organizations by providing training and placement for volunteers
Nonprofit Roanoke - Provides resources for local nonprofits
Planning - Provides information to funders, government and human service agencies to plan for new or expanded programs that address community human service needs
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program - Provides volunteer engagement opportunities for individuals 55 and older in the Roanoke Valley
Volunteer Generation Program - Works to establish an effective volunteer program in all Roanoke County Public Schools
