You Can Help Others Achieve a Better LIfe - Give Today!

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is dedicated to helping people with disabilities and disadvantages overcome barriers to success. Goodwill programs help youth, adults, and seniors throughout the Roanoke Valley, empowering them to achieve their greatest potential.

Through your support of Goodwill, you will help people in our community through a variety of ways including:

Youth Mentoring programs place youth with adult mentors. The mentors give guidance, support, and encouragement a young person needs for character development. Mentors also provide youth the chance to develop the skills they need to live a successful life.

Programs such as Project SEARCH and Pre-Employment Tranisition Services provide youth with disabilities job readiness and work-based job experience training that allows them to be work ready upon graduation.

Goodwill youth programs also include Science Camp, Science Club, and Youth Work Experiences.

Goodwill's healthcare training programs, like GoodCare, provide supportive services, life skills training, education, and assistance to obtain employment in the healthcare industry.

Adults with significant disabilities receive services through Goodwill's Medicaid Waiver Discovery Services which include Group Day Support, Community Engagement, and Community Coaching. These programs assist individuals to help them gain the skills they need to achieve greater independence.

The GoodStart Re-Entry program seeks to ensure that people who have a past, can also have a future. Adults with criminal backgrounds receive employment services that foster confidence and skill building necessary for a successful transition to a stable, productive life.

Careers in Technology helps individuals age 17 and older to gain the skills needed to have a career in the technology industry. The program seeks to help people who are unemployed or are having trouble making ends meet with their current job. Those who qualify for the program receive skills training and the opportunity to earn credentials to get their career started on the right foot.

Through the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), Goodwill provides part-time employment and training in community service positions for individuals age 55 and older who have a low income.

Basic Computer Classes are available to the public to help job seekers improve their employment opportunities by increasing their computer skills.

Last year, your support made it possible for Goodwill to provide services to nearly 47,000 individuals in the Roanoke, New River, and Shenandoah Valleys. Because of you, 3,300 people are now working and earning a pay check because they had the opportunity to participate in a Goodwill program.

You can be assured that your gift makes a difference in someone's life. At Goodwill, 90% of revenues earned support job training and employment programs that help people help themselves.

The impact goes far beyond the individual successes of those participating in Goodwill programs. Families are stronger and more financially secure; local businesses benefit from a well-trained and committed workforce; and our community has more citizens who are able to contribute, give back, and make a positive impact.

You are changing lives through your support of Goodwill!
