Matthew's Child was established to
*ENHANCE our foster and adoptive community.
Some of the services we offer are:
*meals for families with new placements to make that first night a little easier
*gifts and essentials for children entering the system all included in our "survival kit" bookbags
*support and love for families and parents (both biological and adoptive)
*a swap option for needs a foster family may have for clothes, furniture, etc
*random acts of kindness for parents, kiddos, and social workers who are making a difference everyday!
Until recently, Matthew's Child remained anonymous, blessing people from the shadows, simply to provide encourage and support. We have come out, in complete humility, due to the growing need for services, and the resources that must come along with that.
It is our belief that it takes a community to raise a child. Everyone is involved, be it parents, social workers, teachers, therapists, neighbors, friends, or coaches. Not everyone is called to take children into their home; but those that are need support from others. A friendly word of encouragement, a cup a coffee, a night out to go on a real date (outside of the grocery store)-all of these are ways to provide encouragement and support to these foster families as they work together to make a difference for children and their biological families.
You are the answer to that need.
