The Presbyterian Community Center (“PCC”) was established in 1967 to help residents of southeast Roanoke. Since that time, the PCC has expanded its mission to include residents of northeast Roanoke, eastern Roanoke County and Vinton. A 501(c)(3) organization, the PCC fulfills its mission through two programs, Emergency Services and the Pathways for Youth after-school program.

Emergency Services is a homelessness prevention program that aids at-risk individuals and families by providing emergency financial assistance for utilities, rent, mortgage, prescription medication, heating oil and other life necessities. The program also includes a food pantry for those needing help to feed their families. The goal of PCC Emergency Services is to help clients through difficult times, avoid homelessness, and ultimately to maintain or improve their life situations.

Pathways for Youth serves children in grades 3 – 12. Pathways provides tutoring, homework assistance, cultural opportunities, field trips, and many enriching academic activities. The goal of Pathways is see each child graduate from high school and pursue higher education or a career.
