Franklin County Humane Society
Did you know that the Franklin County Humane Society takes in 80 percent of our county's animals in need as well as helping other shelters in the surrounding areas such as Roanoke? Our Planned Pethood Clinic provides over 3,100 spay neuters each year in addition to wellness services and care for our Adoption Center animals. Our Adoption Center provides care for over 2,400 animals each year. All on zero government funding. It is donations from YOU that make this possible!
We have made incredible strides in our county and surrounding areas. We have been the driving force that has reduced the kill rate at our local open intake animal control shelter. We have turned the tables in our community. Instead of 2,000 plus pets dying in our county each year, they are being saved!
We opened our low cost spay/neuter clinic in 2000. Our goal at our Planned Pethood Clinic is to stop the needless destruction of healthy dogs, cats, puppies and kittens by reducing pet overpopulation. High volume low cost spay neuter is essential to reducing the number of animals entering shelters and pounds each year. Our affordable spay/neuter prices are subsidized by donations.
