For a sick child, sometimes the best medicine of all is having family
nearby for more hugs, kisses and I love you's.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia (RMHC of SW VA) is about keeping families with sick children close to each other and the care and resources they need.
Coping with a baby born too soon, helping a sick child fight their illness, or dealing with a child who’s been in a traumatic accident takes a big enough emotional toll on a family- adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. RMHC of Southwest Virginia can help address those problems, by providing a place to stay, rest, regroup and find nourishment and support for families that must travel to Roanoke for their child to receive medical care.
The Weikel’s visiting from Texas telling their story:
The Ronald McDonald Family Room, located on the 14th
floor of Carilion Children’s, is there for parents in our very own community to grab a refreshment and take a break while remaining just steps away from their child’s bedside.
