"Together we can make a difference in a life"

This year during Roanoke Valley Gives we have set our fundrising goal at $50,000.00.  The donated funds of $30,000.00 will help to purchase grain for the horses for the next 12 months and $20,000.00 will be used to purchase needed hay.

The Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue Inc. is an approved non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on the prevention of equine abuse. Our paddocks are open to abused, neglected, starved, and slaughter bound horses.

RVHR needs EVERYONE'S HELP to feed and care for each of the horses here at the rescue.

Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue Inc. (RVHR), opened in 2002, has become the longest operating Equine Rescue in the area. RVHR provides assistance, upon request, to Animal Control offices throughout Virginia when horses are being seized. RVHR also considers owner releases to reduce the risk of horses entering the slaughter pipeline.
Our facility consists of 21 acres located in Franklin County Virginia just 30 minutes from Downtown Roanoke.

Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue Inc. staff are available to answer questions from the general public regarding horse care and safety.
RVHR welcomes visitors by appointment and during scheduled open house times/days.
