When you donate to the Botetourt Family YMCA Capital Campaign, you will help us bring the best possible Y to the Boteourt Community. With a total fundraising goal of $10 million, we have $750,000 left to raise to meet our goal.

Currently under construction, our new Y is slated to open to the community by the end of this year. The new facility will have over 45,000 square feet of premium health and wellness space, including an eight-lane lap pool, a warm-water recreation and therapy pool, state-of-the-art networked fitness equipment, three group exercise studios, a basketball gymnasium, indoor track, a modern lobby with social gathering spaces and lots of space for kids and teens to play. T

The real impact the community will see lies within the programs the Y will be able to deliver. These programs are focused on:

Y Splash
Teaching children how to be safe around water is one of the most important life skills the YMCA can provide—especially when you consider that up to 80% of second graders in some area schools would drown in water over their heads. Each year, we teach over 1,000 second graders fundamental water safety skills and offer FREE swim lessons to those identified at the highest risk.

Teen Leaders’ Club
Teens are increasingly exposed to risky behaviors like drug, tobacco and alcohol use. The Y’s Teen Leaders’ Club provides teens mentorship and a place to focus on healthy behaviors. Teen leaders meet weekly to participate in wellness activities, develop leadership skills and volunteer in the community.

Improving the nation's health and well-being
With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, millions of youth, adults, and families are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.

Healthy living for all
With our doors open to all, we bring together people from all backgrounds, and support those who need us most. Our financial assistance program ensures that at-risk children have a safe place to go in the summer and it allows seniors on fixed incomes a chance to benefit from a healthier, more active life.
